Heavy-Gauge Thermoforming
Multifab Manufacturing forms critical plastic components from small to very large envelopes and from thin to thick gauges, using both vacuum and pressure forming. Our engineering team supports your program from the earliest design stages so parts are optimized for manufacturability and performance.
Why Thermoforming?
Heavy-gauge thermoforming is an excellent fit when you need large parts, lower annual volumes, or a fast path from concept to production. Tooling and start-up costs are typically far lower than traditional injection molding, yet parts can still achieve high cosmetic quality and tight detail.
The process also allows us to produce parts in wall thicknesses that are difficult or impractical for injection molding. With pressure forming, we can push material more tightly into the tool, creating sharp features, crisp radii, and surface detail that rivals injection-molded housings.
For many aerospace, medical, and industrial applications, thermoforming provides the right balance of aesthetics, strength, and total cost of ownership.
Heavy-Gauge Thermoforming at Multifab Manufacturing
Heavy-gauge thermoforming has been at the core of Multifab Manufacturing for more than 35 years. It is the process that shaped our company and continues to drive our investments in people, tooling, and equipment.
Our forming lines combine modern thermoforming presses with advanced process controls, allowing us to monitor and record the critical parameters that affect part quality. We engage early with customers, review part geometry and drawings, and align design decisions with what our process and materials do best. This approach shortens development time and builds quality into the product from the start.
We pair this process control with high-quality tooling. Well-designed, accurately built tools are essential to consistent parts, so we invest heavily in both in-house and partner tooling capabilities. When that tooling runs on our forming equipment under documented procedures, the result is predictable, repeatable parts delivered on time.
If you are currently designing for injection molding, we would welcome the opportunity to show how pressure forming can meet your functional and cosmetic needs at a fraction of the initial tooling cost.
Quality Seen the World Over
Multifab thermoformed parts are used worldwide in commercial, medical, and aerospace products where demanding detail and reliability are non-negotiable. Our combination of modern equipment, disciplined process control, and experienced operators enables us to hold tight tolerances and deliver consistent cosmetic appearance run after run.
From complex enclosures and bezels to large interior panels, we work closely with your engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure every requirement is understood and met.
